Timmins Rock vs Ottawa Jr. Senators

The Rock ended their Centennial Cup run in the win column on Wednesday as they defeated the Senators 2-1 in a shootout.

The first 40 minutes of the game were all about Ottawa. They outshot Timmins 15-4 in the first and 12-4 in the second. The Senators' first goal of the game came in the middle frame, with Emile Villiard finding the back of the net.

In the third, it was a different story. The Rock got on the board seven minutes into the period when Lucas Piekarczyk capitalized on a rebound opportunity. Timmins knew they needed a regulation win to move on in the tournament, so even though the score was 1-1, they pulled their goalie with a minute to go.

Timmins had a few chances but couldn't capitalize, however, they made sure to take advantage of their chances in the shootout.

The Timmins Rock's first-ever Centennial Cup appearance has ended. They will come away with their heads held high after picking up two overtime wins in the round-robin. The Senators will face off with the Collingwood Blues in the quarterfinals at 3:30 on Friday.

Yarmouth Mariners vs Cobras de Terrebonne

While the Mariners had yet to pick up a win at the Centennial Cup, they were able to snatch away a victory when they needed it most. Yarmouth ended the Cobras' journey at the tournament with a 3-2 win.

Reilly Mayne got things going just 17 seconds into the contest and gave Yarmouth some early momentum. Patrick Hurley made it 2-0 in the first but Anthony Di Cesare trimmed the lead back to one a minute later.

Genaro Fronduto tied the game in the third but Yarmouth wouldn't quit.

With the 3-2 regulation victory, Yarmouth tied the Cobras in the standings with four points but with the win, they hold the tiebreaker and will move on. The Mariners will play the host Portage Terriers at 7:30 on Friday night in the quarterfinal.
