A Brandon man has been remanded into custody with numerous firearm-related charges after police were called to Gladstone last Thursday.

Spruce Plains (Neepawa) RCMP responded to a report of a man and woman walking suspiciously around the community. The RCMP were able to find 41-year-old, Sean Paul Connors. Once the officers found Connors, he was asked for identification. The male suspect then proceded to drop all of his belongings and run off. Officers caught and arrested him.

The man's jacket and backpack were seized. When the officer picked up his coat, a loaded sawed-off shotgun was inside of it. A further investigation into the man led to police finding two stolen vehicles -- a pickup truck from Virden and a motorcycle from Landmark.

Later that day, the officers located the 21-year-old Brandon woman, who was then released for a court date scheduled for November 22nd in Minnedosa.

Connors is facing numerous firearm-related charges as well as Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of a Controlled Drug and Resisting Arrest.

The investigation continues.
