Manitoba athletes earned five medals Friday at the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island.

Four of those medals were in archery.

Ryder Wilson of Selkirk and Chyler Sanders of Winnipeg won gold while Ryan Cherniak and Emily Love of Winnipeg captured bronze.

Julia Xiao and Keith Lau of Winnipeg won gold in figure skating.

Team Toba’s medal count is 17 with six gold, five silver and six bronze.

Manitoba lost 5-0 to BC in the quarterfinals of female hockey and will play in the seventh place game today against New Brunswick.

Team Toba's Mixed Doubles Curling team of Mackenzie Arbuckle & Aaron Macdonell lost their playoff opener 6-4 to Alberta.

Manitoba's Male Curling team of Jace Freeman, Elias Huminicki, Rylan Graham & Jack Steski will face BC. That winner will take on Alberta with a berth in the gold medal game on the line.

Competition ends today in archery, boxing, cross country skiing, judo and snowboard.
