Today through Sunday, the Outstanding Young Farmers of Canada national event is being held in Saskatoon.

Tomorrow night sees the National Outstanding Young Farmers title awarded, and this year's Manitoba nominees are Michelle and Albert Rimke of Oak Lake. They'll be joined by Austin's Lyndon and Laurelly Beswitherick, who were this province's 2003 representatives.

Lyndon notes they're attending this year for several reasons, one of which is to support the Rimkes. He adds it's a chance to network with people from different parts of Canada as well as renew past friendships.

Beswitherick says they've made life-long friends from across the country through program.

He believes this is an important gathering because it encourages young people in the ag industry.
