There were some doubts about whether or not the Aborg Fair and Rodeo would be able to take place this summer, but thanks to community members stepping up, the event got the go-ahead earlier this week.

Jinny Sigurdson, president of the Arborg Ag society, explains that the society held an event looking for volunteers in hopes of finding people to make the Fair and Rodeo happen.

She talks about the turnout.

"I was pleasantly surprised, and I was very overwhelmed with the amount of people that showed up."

Sigurdson notes that they had 28 people come out, and while that was enough for them to give the go-ahead on the event, she still says they'll need more people for the night to go right.

"We still need a lot more people." Concludes Sigurdson

If everything goes according to plan, the Arborg Fair and Rodeo will occur on July 16th and 17th.
