The Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame held its 2006 induction ceremony yesterday in Portage.

5 names were added to the more than 100 already enshrined.

Inducted were the Late William Jarvis of Winnipeg, the Late Dr. Eugene Lange of Winnipeg, Owen McAuley of McAuley, Thomas Scott of Boissevain, and Bill Vaags of Dugald.

Agriculture Minister Rosann Wowchuk spoke at the ceremony.

She feels it's important for those who have made a contribution to the ag industry be recognized.

Each inductee is recognized with a plaque which is hung at the hall.

The Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame is located at the Keystone Centre in Brandon.
