An accident occurred just west of the Hwy 1 and 16 intersection at Rd 46W, west of Portage la Prairie around 3:00 p.m.  A commercial van collided at the front with what appeared to be a semi, although the semi on site seemed to have no damage. 

The van was in the left westbound lane on the Trans-Canada Highway, and traffic is down to one lane westbound. 

Ambulance, Fire Dept. and RCMP were on the scene.
