The RM of Woodlands Council is having a hard time making a decision on distance limits from Warren's bulk fuel storage facility.

Reeve Trevor King says the residential developers are waiting for a response.

"The Municipal Board told us we may consider putting in distances, but it's not something we have to do, but some of Council would like to see some distances. Council's somewhat divided on the actual distance we should come up with. We're still searching for that resolution -- and hopefully -- within the near future we can come up with something because we have developers that are wanting to get moving there."

King says they want everyone on council to be comfortable with their decision.

"We did our own actual in-house risk analysis with our fire chief to show the risk is very low, and that's what we've come up with that analysis that the risk was extremely low. So we're trying to come up with something that everyone can agree on -- or the majority of council can agree on -- to make it move forward."

He says they'd like to get a decision made soon as they have residential developers looking to build in the area. He adds there aren't any provincial or federal regulations set for distances from the facility.
