The Portage Regional Library in Portage la Prairie's holding the Winter Wheat Literary Festival tomorrow afternoon. Program coordinator Lori Mackedenski explains what it's all about.

"Very first time we're ever offering anything like this at the library. And it is an afternoon devoted to people who love to read and are interested in writing as well. We've got some Manitoba authors who are coming. They'll be leading some discussion panels as well as having some books for sale and to sign."

She notes the idea is to inform you about writing, editing, and even getting story ideas from published authors so you can write your own books.

Five authors will be there, including former Portager Lindsay Kitson, Scott Henderson, R.J. Hore, Timothy Gwyn and L.T. Getty. The festival starts at 1:00 p.m., and runs until 4:00. There are door prizes for those who are there for the session. A nutrition break is provided by Youth Member of Council for Portage, Lasha Mackedenski.
