Warm weather seems to be hanging around Portage la Prairie this fall.

Environment Canada Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Natalie Hassel says we're definitely above normal temperature-wise.

"Some parts of Southern Manitoba have already gotten snow, and right now for the Portage area we're looking at a chance of freezing rain overnight. So a risk of freezing rain which could mean very poor driving conditions, and things could change very quickly. We'll be with particularly bad conditions until we reach temperatures above zero, which is focused for the afternoon."

Hassel says the weather has been all over the map this fall across Manitoba.

"Our daytime highs we're seeing at this time of year on average are somewhere around -4. The coldest we're seeing during daytime highs are anywhere from -2 to +3. So looking at that, we're still well above normal, but not nearly as much as we were just last week."

Hassel adds any freezing rain that sticks to roads in the morning, should be gone in the afternoon.
