The incoming president of the Portage Real Estate Board is looking forward to the new year. Warren Neufeld says they'll continue to build on some of the good initiatives which began over the last twelve to twenty-four months, noting they have a brand new executive for the first time in a long time. Neufeld says there seems to be renewed interest from their membership in participating at a higher level, so they're going to meet early in January and set some goals for themselves---including building on internal communication between members. He notes they also want the public to know what their office is all about and that they can help folks get information on a variety of questions and concerns.

Neufeld adds for most of us, buying a house will be the largest purchase we'll ever make and we don't do it that often. He says when we are involved, we really want to get all the best information we can before we make those decisions. Neufeld notes the Portage Real Estate Board can be a great resource for people when they're thinking about buying or selling a home.

He says Portage is a very stable and affordable market, adding home ownership in our community is still an attainable goal for the vast majority of working people. Neufeld notes in Toronto and Vancouver many lawyers and doctors are being priced out of the real estate market, but here in Portage the average working family can still buy a pretty decent home.
