It turned out to be a perfect day for the Vintage Cruiser Car Show in Portage la Prairie Sunday.

The day started off a little dreary in the morning, but by 11 a.m. the sun was breaking through, and people started to fill Island Park. Mayor Irvine Ferris was in attendance and says it's a great event for the city.

"A great day! A lot of quality vehicles, a lot of quality vehicles, a lot of people visiting old friends they don't get to see all the time. We've got people here from Brandon, Gimli, Macgregor, Winnipeg, all over Manitoba. It's been a great day, and a great day for the Portage Club."

Craig Dunn Motor City's Kaitlin Pankratz attended the show, and says people will drive far to see special interest cars.

"You know, it's a really good turn out. There's a lot of people that came from all across Manitoba, and they all have pretty good looking rides. When it comes down to it, it's the special interest cars that people find attractive. You have to be interested."
