Vehicle Lost in Fire Near Oakville

A vehicle fire took place this morning near Oakville. No injuries occurred. Here's Captain Corey Jowett with the details.

"Portage Fire Department received a 911 call at 11:33 this morning reporting a vehicle fire on Highway 331 about 1 mile west of Highway 13," says Jowett. "Upon arrival the Ford F150 was fully involved., Highway 331 was closed while the fire was extinguished, and then reopened shortly thereafter. The vehicle was a total write-off."

Jowett says the fire's not suspicious. The driver of the truck says he noticed smoke and fire coming from beneath the hood while driving and proceeded to pull over. Upon lifting the hood, he saw the fire increase, removed his dog from the cab, and called 911.
