It was an exciting day for folks who stopped in the PCU Centre for the Portage Plains United Way Children's Christmas Carnival.

Office Manager Jen Sneesby says it's one of their favourite events.

"This is our fun event, our feel good, give back to the community event. I love it because it puts everybody into the Christmas spirit. We've seen about 200 kids come through the door this year and there were so many fun activities for them to do. It's great to see families out, and for them to realize that it's Portage Plains United Way that is giving back to them. We also appreciate all the donations that are coming in."

Sneesby says it was an important day for their staff and volunteers.

"It's the community that gives us all the support through the year for fundraising from January all the way to December for each campaign. Our money goes back into the community to all these agencies who provide programs and services in our community. So this is a thank you to the community who give, and we wanted to give back."

Sneesby says they had a lot of great games and snacks for everyone in attendance.
