The PCI Trojans are holding a fundraiser at their Zone 4 Hockey League season opener tonight at the PCU Centre.

Trojans' General Manager explains why.

"One of our player's mom is having a pretty serious battle with cancer and some of the parents and players have gotten together to create a bit of a fundraiser, and Tim Horton's has donated some coffee. It's really a close-knit group of kids, and it's really cool to see them step up for this particular player."

Essay explains how they plan to raise some funds.

"One of the moms is an avid knitter and she's creating some coffee cozies with the Trojans logo on there, and Tim Horton's has donated the coffee. So anyone who purchases a cozy, which is going toward the fundraiser for this player's mom, gets the free coffee. There's some baking as well."

He adds the team has really rallied around their teammate for this cause. The Trojans game starts at 7:45 p.m. at the PCU Centre.
