Sunset Palliative Care will hold its annual "Christmas Dinner Of Hope" on December 6th. Volunteer Coordinator Aldene Moroz says this event is held during the holiday season because it's a time that can be very difficult for people who have lost a loved one. Moroz notes the dinner is an opportunity to share some time with others who are missing someone too, and to offer words of hope and support. She says you can also light a candle as a special way to honour your loved one's memory. Moroz notes they're pleased that this year they've received sponsorships from the PCRC and Mil-Jeane's as a way of offsetting some of the costs of the event. She adds in the past they did charge fifteen dollars for the dinner but this time around people can just attend and make a donation if they're so moved.

Moroz says Sunset Palliative Care has also put up their Christmas Memory Tree once again in the PCU Centre, so folks can go to the front desk at the Centre and ask for a card. She notes the Dinner Of Hope began with just thirteen people and last year it had grown to sixty-eight folks, adding this year they're hoping to get their numbers up to a hundred. You can reserve your ticket by calling 204-857-3746 and the deadline for getting tickets is the end of business on Friday.
