The Municipality of Norfolk-Treherne has received an estimated $30,000 from the Louis Dreyfus Commodities Field of Dreams program to help with the expansion of the Tiger Hills Health Centre. Norfolk-Treherne Reeve Craig Spencer explains what the Field of Dreams program is.

"Over the last 3 years, the Louis Dreyfus in Rathwell has developed a program where the 70,000 acres of land adjacent to their inland terminal is planted and harvested, and the receipts from that land go toward community projects."

Spencer comments on the project.

"Field of Dreams has contributed about $65,000 toward community projects, so it's a real bonus and benefit to the area. I applaud Louis Dreyfus for pursuing this and I applaud the project coordinator Tammy Metcalf who works for Louis Dreyfus. It's a great example of a large, international company working with a municipal government."

Spencer says the health centre's expansion cost is over $500,000, and they're almost at that amount.

"We're 84% funded through donations at this point. We're actually meeting with the Prairie Mountain RHA this week and at that time we hope that we're going to be going to tenders and then we'll be in the ground shortly and completed by winter. Being 16% short of our goal, we applaud Louis Dreyfus and the Field of Dreams program for coming in and helping us get to 100%"
