The snow's beginning to fall in the Portage la Prairie region, and with it comes slick roadways. Motorists are reminded to use caution on their morning commutes, as there's reports of ice covered highways across the region. We're expected to get 2-4 cm of the white stuff this morning.

The Brandon, Neepawa, Carberry and Treherne regions could see more downfall. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement saying heavy snow will push in from the south early this morning and spread northward, bringing periods of freezing rain or pellets. Those areas could see up to 15 cm of snow by Wednesday, while 20-30 cm is expected in extreme southwestern Manitoba and the Parkland region.
