The 35th annual Vintage Cruisers Car Club Show & Shine happens on Portage la Prairie's Island Park tomorrow.

It's from 11 in the morning until about 4 in the afternoon.

Organizer Rusty Rutherford's not surprised the event's continued for so long.

"Cars are immensely popular. The cars today -- they're very nice, and they're beautiful to drive -- but to look at them, they don't have the personality that the older cars had. Every car was different. You could tell what car was coming down the road toward you without having to look at the hood to see the maker's name. So, people love to come and see them."

Rutherford says even though they don't hold special events at the Show & Shine, there's always something new to see.

"There are always people attending that haven't before, with their cars. We get a considerable amount of those people, but it'll be just vintage cars and motorcycles. There's a gentleman from Brandon who brings a buckboard. They call it a buckboard -- it's a car -- but it's pretty Spartan."

Rutherford notes there's a silent auction, rainbow auction, 50-50 draw, and the Central Plains Cancer Care food concession, with all proceeds after expenses going to Cancer Care.

He also encourages you to bring a food donation for the Salvation Army.
