Portage Fire Department reports three road mishaps since last night due to slippery conditions.

The first occurred at about 6:30 pm yesterday at Highway 1 and Road 19 West. A passenger truck rolled over with a family of four inside the vehicle -- two adults and two children. No major injuries were immediately recognizable, but the two children were transported to hospital just as a precautionary measure. The family was shaken, but otherwise okay.

Then at 2:36 am at Highway 1 and 13 a vehicle slid into the ditch due to snow on the road.

The third incident occurred at 6:40 this morning at Road 20 West and Highway 1. A single passenger was in a truck that rolled over into a ditch with the potential for a lot of damage. There was eight to ten inches of water in the ditch, and the truck landed upsidedown. The driver was able to free himself through the back window.
