The PCI Trojans and RCMP hockey teams are doing battle tonight at the PCU Centre in Portage la Prairie.

It's all in support of the Moore/Cyr family, who lost their son and home to a fire last year. Constable Brett Montour explains the details starting with how they found the ice.

"Without even us asking the PRRA donated the Ice and we're doing this because of the tragic events of November first where the Moore/Cyr family lost their son Landon Moore. There's no cost for anyone to come and watch this but we're asking for a donation so we can give back to these members of the community."

Constable Brett Montour says he's part of a group that travels Manitoba to help.

"The RCMP Horsemen are a travelling team in the division of Manitoba that travel around to support any charity cause that comes about in the capacity to the sport of hockey. I email 20 or 30 guys and if they're available they'll come out and help."

The game gets underway at 6 p.m.
