Principle Supply has opened a retail location in Portage La Prairie.

Owner Paul Stanley explains the main reason for opening a store in Portage is because of the beds.

"It's hard to get people to buy a bed without trying it. We'll take the odd [bed] up to the communities that we go to and they like it and they buy them, but here in town people have the option of going around and trying beds. We wanted that option here; to have our friends, family and the local people here in Portage have a place to come in and actually see our line, lay down on it, try it out."

Stanley notes the beds offered at Principle Supply are Manitoba made.

"We are proud to offer Winnipeg made mattresses. Something awesome we offer to clients who buy large volumes [is] we take them into the factory. They can see how the beds are made and see what they're made of and they know that they're getting a quality bed."

Principle Supply has been in business for three years and started out as a commercial laundry service. They have since expanded to source diverse products, such as beds, for people in remote communities and around the province.
