The 2016 Manitoba Provincial Election wrapped up last night with Ian Wishart winning in the Portage la Prairie Constituency for the Progressive Conservatives. Liberal candidate Stephen Prince was runner up in his first ever election campaign and notes some of the highlights during his time.

Liberal Candidate Stephen Prince"I had a fun time in this election. Unfortunately, I only had about 6 weeks to run an effective campaign, but I got to meet a lot of interesting people and I got to know the constituents in the Portage la Prairie riding a lot better. It was a very interesting 6 weeks and a very educational experience for me, and I wish Ian Wishart the best!"

He says although he didn't win, he still considers it a positive experience.

"If I do end up running again I'm obviously going to have a lot more time to prepare, but the one thing that I would like to say is that I don't have to be elected to be a community leader and I do realize that. With me, I've always told my students to live life by example and so, with my students, I teach them to live a positive life. The way I see it, this was a positive thing for me and a great learning experience."
