The Municipality of Glenella-Lansdowne's going ahead with a project to erect a storage shed.

Reeve Richard Funk outlines why.

"At the north end of our municipality right in Glenella, they haven't got a shed for storage. And we have a nice machinery shed and a workshop, but it was crowded with one thing or another -- supplies on hand, like tires, and oil and grease, and repair parts were all stored in that shed. And there's not really room for it."

He said he came up with the idea and council approved it.

"So, the council felt that it was time we built a shed. We're trying to build a shed 32 X 48 to accommodated the holding of some of our lighter machinery and our service truck, and have a place in there for storage of our excess equipment and supplies."

Funk explains it's both for security and safety. The service truck comes in with wrenches and tools onboard that can't be left in the open. In the current workshop tires, oil and grease and repair parts can create a hazard while workers work on machinery. The new storage shed will solve those problems. He adds they're taking quotes right now for construction, and they hope to begin building in August and have work completed October 1st.
