Blaine Pedersen has won the Midland constituency for the the third time.

Pedersen won a landslide victory over the other three parties Tuesday with the Green Party candidate, Stacy O'Neill, in second place.

"It's always an honour to receive the support of the constituency," said Pedersen Tuesday night after his victory was finalized. "Very few Manitobans ever get to experience being an MLA and so this is really special."

Pedersen says he's worked hard ever since he was first elected in 2007 to build trust, the virtue he says all Manitobans operate on.

"When trust is broken, we see the consequences."

Pedersen congratulated O'Neill on coming in second, saying he thanks her for running in the election. "That's how democracy works," he said.

This is the first victory for the Tories in Manitoba since 1995, ending a four term win-streak by the NDP.
