A new exhibit at the Portage and District Arts Centre features two local photographers. Executive Director Paul Legris says they're thrilled to be able to show the work of Robert and Melodie Dondo, noting this is a beautiful collection of the Oakville couple's work. Legris says the exhibit is broken down into three themes: visuals throughout Manitoba, photos of other parts of Canada, and pictures from around the world. He notes the collection features various sizes of photographs, ranging from four by eleven inches all the way up to a piece which is four feet high. Legris adds these rich and colourful works are a gorgeous addition to the gallery.

He says some of the images are straight prints while others are probably manipulated through software. Legris notes some photos almost look like a painted canvas and the detail on them is amazing. He adds this sort of thing isn't new in photography because people have been manipulating images in the dark room for years. Legris says using modern software like Photoshop is a very interesting way to impact the image.

The exhibit will run until January 21st and an artist's reception takes place at 7 p.m. on December 8th. Legris notes everyone is welcome to attend the reception, which will feature a talk by one of the photographers.
