Following the election this week, the mayor of the Municipality of North Norfolk's hoping the ongoing concerns for municipalities to see the PST supply them with their fair share to cover heavy infrastructure costs will be resolved with the new provincial government. Neil Christoffersen recounts the issue.

"The AMM (Association of Manitoba Municpalities) has been lobbying on behalf of the municipalities throughout the whole campaign. And the needs were communicated to all the parties. So, hopefully those needs will be reflected in any new policy development that this government makes. All levels of government want to provide a good service of programs for Manitobans, but given the financial constraints that we all work with, we'll just have to wait and see."

Christoffersen says he's glad to have seen four candidates put forth their names in Agassiz during the election alone.

"I think that's great that enough people would think about the process that they would make a decision to put their name forward."

He adds, "I'd like to thank the previous government for their commitment. And also all the candidates who put their name on the ballot this time around. Because that's not an easy decision to make. I know in the past we've had a good working relationship with the previous administration. We're looking forward to developing that same type of relationship with the new government."
