The Portage la Prairie Odd Jobs Squad is taking the final orders for their Muffin Madness Sale today. Manitoba Youth Job Centre Youth Engagement Leader Keelin Horning says they're selling a half dozen for only 6$, and they young workers seem to be taking to the newly added sale.

"I think they're really eager. I know a lot of them -- being 12 and 13 -- are very eager to get out there and get working, so it's great to see them so excited. Most of them, like Blake here, are very eager and willing to do any job I come up with."

The business community as well.

"Very positive, a lot of them want to support the youth and the community. So it's great to see that they're willing to spend the money and time talking to us, and getting to know what the Centre's all about and supporting the Odd Jobs Squad."

Squad Member Blake Richardson says why he, and others, got involved.

"Because at the age of 12 or 13 you don't really get the option to work and get paid, unless you have a bank account, because paycheques come as cheques. But it's a fun way for all youth, because you can get paid in cold hard cash, and you don't have to worry about taxes right now."

Get your order in for muffins Monday until 4:30 p.m. They'll be delivered to your home or office on Friday.
