Those in Aborg's mobile home park may have some spring cleaning to do, while others may have to take on minor renovations. Mayor Randy Sigurdson says town staff have noticed room for improvement when it comes to the aesthetics of the trailer park, and decided last week to call on those residents to make the space more appealing. He notes while much of the work focuses on yard cleaning and minor aesthetic work such as siding, they also may take measures to ensure the structures themselves are still in good shape.

"There are a couple of yards there in need of clean-up, so we're going to deal with each mobile home on an individual basis. We'll just send letters, which may come from the planning district. We may also have the building inspector go through some of them to make sure they're in good shape for habitation."

Sigurdson says the park, which is owned by the town, is usually fairly receptive to these types of requests, and anticipates very little push back when it comes the letters come out.

"We're just going to send that letter and we're hopeful any of our concerns will just be dealt with by the people. They're usually pretty good to deal with. We're not anticipating any enforcement as such, we just want to make sure these things do get cleaned up."

He notes there haven't been any complaints issued regarding the mobile home park, but says they simply want to ensure the park remains aesthetically pleasing.
