Representatives from chambers across the province are in Portage for the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce AGM this weekend. CEO of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce Chuck Davidson outlines the weekends events.

"What's going to be taking place in Portage over the next two and a half days is that we bring chambers together from across the province where we spend two days with the opportunity to network, the opportunities to do a number of sessions that will hopefully help local chambers whether it be with economic development or tourism. Our policy discussion will take place Sunday which is really the bread and butter of the chamber network. "

Portage la Prairie and District Chamber President Dave Omichinski says hosting the AGM is a great opportunity.

"It's our 130th anniversary. We are one of the longest running chambers in Canada. To have the opportunity to host the Manitoba Chambers is great. There's sixty some odd chambers around the province so there is very good attendance. It gets us to showcase and highlight Portage. We are out at Southport Hanger 1 to showcase the beautiful site out here. It should be a great weekend with a good economic impact and a great chance to showcase Portage."

The AGM runs from May 6th to 8th.
