You still have a few days left to take in the Summer Book Sale at the Portage Library.

Portage Library book sale coordinator and graphic designer Suzy Laevens says the sale will continue until the end of November but will then be packed away so the library can be decorated for the holiday season.

Laevens explains how much money has been made through this year's sale.

"So far we've made just over fourteen thousand this year, which is a little bit down from last year but we are not complaining in the least. We are very, very, very happy with the outcome this year, we've sold a lot of books."

She adds they are thankful for everyone who supported the book sale.

"We are very grateful to the community of Portage for their donations of books that come through all year long, and we accept them all year long, and for people that have come in and added to their collections buying our books. That really means a lot to us. And we like to see all these familiar faces through the doors, some people just come in for the book sale and we love to see them every year."

Last year's sale was also extended until November and made just over $16,000.
