Portage la Prairie area teens, get your cameras out and enter the Portage Regional Library's Teen Photo Contest. Program Coordinator Lori Mackadenski says teens have a chance to show off their photographic skills.

"We've got three different categories that they can enter. It ends on the 31st of August. So, they can come into the library and pick up entry forms. They'll need one entry form per photo. When they have their photos ready, they just bring the entry form with the photo back to the library."

She outlines the categories.

"I love Portage, Where I like To Read, and Piles of Stuff."

Mackadenski adds they've done this before.

"The last time we ran one here was 2009. So, it's been a few years. We have about ten kids that take part. Anybody who wants to use their phones or their cameras to take some great shots, it's a fun chance to show off your creative side. They will be displayed after the 31st . We have a professional photographer who judges the photos and decides which is top in each of the categories."
