Progress on the rural water line network is one of the priorities for the RM of Cartier in the coming year. Reeve Dale Fossay says this major project is already underway, noting they've received word from the federal and provincial governments about more funding to expand the rural water lines. Fossay says based on fifty percent funding from the feds and twenty-five percent from the province, the RM expects to extend the water lines to approximately forty-five families in 2017, including two colonies.

Fossay notes the usual ongoing drainage work will continue to be important over the next twelve months. He adds a number of roads took a hit with the wet autumn the region recently experienced, so there may be additional road work to do around the municipality as well during 2017.
