The new session of the Manitoba Legislature begins tomorrow.

It's the first sitting with the Brian Pallister Conservatives in government.

Agassiz MLA Eileen Clarke says the Caucus has spent the last couple of weeks preparing, including two Caucus meetings, and two Cabinet meetings.

"We are all learning our roles. All of us are new as being in government because even the incumbents from the previous PC caucus are new in government, so it's been a flurry of activity of learning for all of us, and sharing our experiences. But I would say we're pretty much ready for Monday, and looking forward to our first Throne Speech."

Clarke's also the Minister for Indigenous and Municipal Relations, and has had conversations with representatives from both sides of the portfolio.

"I'm meeting with Mayor (Brian) Bowman (of Winnipeg) and Mayor (Rick) Chrest from Brandon next week, and looking forward to those meetings. I've also met with the mayor of Churchill, and Chief Ron Evans from Norway House, and explained what we're hoping to do in regards to having a good working relationship. And the responses have all been positive."

Clarke is very excited about settling into the daily routines of the Legislature, as well as continuing to meet with stakeholders.
