Portage la Prairie's city council will hold a come-and-go open house on Wednesday to collect input from the public about accessibility in our community. Councillor Melissa Draycott says people can stop by the multi-purpose room at the PCU Centre any time between 4 and 7 p.m. on September 7th, noting they're looking for feedback about the city's accessibility plan. Draycott says everyone is welcome but they're particularly looking for input from persons with disabilities and from those who advocate for persons with disabilities or assist them. She notes if you're unable to attend the open house, feedback forms will also be available on line and at City Hall.

Draycott adds improving accessibility is something that council has been working on for a while and it's always good to see where they can make improvements. She says people with disabilities are just as important as everybody else, so the accessibility plan will look at how they can make it a level playing field for all the residents of Portage.
