The Interlake constituency has a new MLA. Progressive Conservative Derek Johnson says he's pleased with the results of yesterday's election and with all the good news for the PC party across the province. Johnson notes Tom Nevakshonoff was a long time MLA for the riding but he hadn't been listening to his constituents for the last few terms. He adds Nevakshonoff had one more chance in the last election and he didn't follow through.

Johnson says they now have to get Manitoba back on track financially, noting there'll be plenty of other work for the new government to do. He adds the doctor shortage is another major issue in the riding. Johnson says a few nights ago every hospital in the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority was diverting patients, so that's something that will need to be addressed----sooner rather than later.
