The RM of Woodlands council is pitching in to help with costs required for a curling rink in Marquette. Reeve Trevor King outlines the contribution.

Trevor King "The request for the grant I believe was $5,000, or more. But we had a little bit of room left in our recreation reserve budget, and grant application budget, I guess you could call it, to accommodate them. So, council approved a $1,500 grant toward replacement of some lighting and some heating in the curling rink."

He notes they're sharing some costs.

"We are sharing some of the insurance costs for the curling rink with the RM of Rosser. We felt we'd certainly want to contribute to some of the project funding there as well. We have a number of organizations and Marquette is actually outside the border of our municipality, but a number of our ratepayers utilize that curling rink."
