Transport Canada's investigating a downed aircraft near Elie. According to RCMP Headingely RCMP were notified early this morning that a crop duster spraying fungicide in a field had suffered engine failure. The pilot prepared for an emergency landing, but couldn't make it to the road so landed in an unrelated field.

Police say the ground was soft, and the plane flipped over its nose as a result of the conditions. Police say the pilot of the plane wasn't injured as a result of the incident.

RCMP state the investigation is ongoing, and Transport Canada has the lead on the investigation.
