Portage la Prairie City Council's putting the finishing touches on the 2016 financial plan, but one step still has to be taken, and you're a significant part of that. A public meeting's being held May 9th to get your opinion.

Mayor Irvine Ferris says they want feedback on the plan, and urges you to ask questions or raise concerns. He outlines how you can access the plan.

"Copies of this financial plan will be available from the 25th of April for review, and may be examined by any person between the hours of 9 and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday at City Hall, or by going to the City's website."

Ferris says it's important to hear your thoughts on the city's financial direction.

"Council and staff worked very hard to keep taxes increases as low as can be kept, at the same time offering the services that people have come to expect from us. And feedback certainly helps guide Council in their decisions, and it's certainly something that we look for."

The public meeting's in Council chambers Monday, May 9th, at 7 o'clock.
