The Herman Prior Centre's holding its annual Christmas craft sale flea market starting today, running through tomorrow in Portage la Prairie. Executive Director Hope Faschoway says there's lots of great items that would be great under the Christmas tree.

"There are always unique items here. We have a wide range from hand-made items to Watkins," Faschoway says. "There's definitely something for everyone here. This event has going on for 20-plus years. It basically started around the first couple of years when the Centre opened, and it's been going strong ever since."

"It is all independent vendors. Herman Prior does have our flea market table. We have a bake table, and we also have the canteen," continues Faschoway. "The funds raised come directly back to Herman Prior, and then the table vendors receive profits for themselves as well. We also charge a minimal table rental fee to cover our costs."

There's a wide range of household items and crafts, Fashoway says, and a lot of hand-made items like knitting, doll clothes, baking, and jewelry.

Faschoway adds, "We also have our medical equipment that will be available for sale as well.

Market begins today and runs from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.. On Saturday it goes from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. See more about the event by clicking here.
