Organizers of CarolFest, a musical event that took place in MacGregor this past weekend in support of the North Norfolk Cheer Board, are calling the event a success.

Sing-along choirs and other ensembles from the North Norfolk region congregated at MacGregor Collegiate Sunday for a night of tunes. MacGregor Community Resource Centre Director David Kruse says more than $2,000 was raised for the region's Cheer Board, and a plethora of food donations also came in.

"It was quite encouraging for the Cheer Board," says Kruse.

Collections for hampers continue up until Dec. 13, Kruse says, and people are encouraged to continue donating non-perishable food items and children's gifts. Collections boxes exist around North Norfolk, with many in MacGregor, Austin and Sydney.

Dec. 13 also marks the cut-off to submit an application to be considered for receiving goods when distributions take place Dec. 17, Kruse adds.

Those in need looking to apply are asked to contact MacGregor Community Resourse Centre at 204-685-2977.
