The start of the Labour Day long weekend's less than 24 hours away, and for many, it's one of the last camping outings of the year.

It also means campground operators are busy, and that's how it is for Miller's Campground in rural Portage la Prairie. Owner Paresh Ghedia says it's been a good year for them.

"All the weekends, we were pretty booked up, and things are pretty good actually. Weather-wise, a little wet year. And actually, this long weekend was booked up earlier, too. I guess the weather forecast is good, so things are looking great."

Ghedia's grateful for the support the region's shown Miller's Campground.

"Portage people, all the local people from Manitoba, Winnipeg, always, it's a pleasure working with our people. It's been a really helpful community, and we're happy to be here."
