The Arron Asham Chance 2 Play Golf Tournament is back for another year in Portage la Prairie.

It's the 12th year since the tournament's first, and it's turned into a pretty exclusive event. It's been filled up for the past few years, and Arron Asham couldn't be happier with its progression. Asham says it's something very special for him.

"I hold this tournament very close to my heart. It's something that we came up with 12 years ago, and I had a lot of help growing up from friends, family, from people that I didn't even know that supported me and helped me on my way. So it's always nice to come back, and be able give back, that's what this tournament is all about. Helping the young try to get up and learn the game, enjoy the game, and hopefully succeed at it."

Asham says he started this event to help kids who need it.

"I don't want anybody to embarrassed or ashamed of coming in and getting some help. We helped 45 kids this year, and I would love to get more. Don't be afraid to come in to the Child and Family and fill out a form. Don't be ashamed, everyone needs help and that's what we're here for. This is close to my heart, and it's a charity that keeps getting bigger, and bigger every year, and we want to help as many people as we can."

There usually aren't many openings in the tournament, as it's grown quite a following over the years.
