Elections Manitoba's been forced to change the advance polling location at Dakota Tipi First Nation. The advance polls were set to be held at the former school in the community, but upon setting up last night, elections officials discovered the facility didn't have power. The polls will now be held at the Dakota Gaming Centre, between 8 am and 8 pm.

The power to the building was cut off last week, and was one of the issues outlined by community leaders during a news conference where they discussed challenges facing the First Nation. Councillor Karl Stone outlined the community's under third-party management, and the bills for the facility had not been paid, leading to the outage.
