The Portage Terriers rebounded against the Dauphin Kings last night and won 3-2 in overtime at Dauphin Credit Union Place. The Terriers opened the scoring early in the first period when Chase Brakel was left alone in front of the net and beat Esposito blocker side. The lead would be short-lived as two minutes later Brett Piper forced a turnover in neutral ice, walked in over the blue line and sniped home his first goal of the season from the high slot.

James McIsaac would give the Terriers the lead again 5 minutes into the second period; he was able to get a stick on the Kain Stevenson point shot. Former Terrier Austin Friesen had his point shot find its way through traffic 32 seconds later and Dauphin would tie the game once more.

The teams would trade chances throughout the rest of the game with Brock Aiken making some key saves. McIsaac would end the game for Portage in overtime. He received a pass from Nick Doyle on a 2 on 1 rush, pulled it backhand and slid it into the open net.

Doyle felt the game got better as it went along. "I think we started off slow. I think the injuries were really killing us, but we finished strong."

McIsaac had 2 goals and an assist on the night and was named the player of the game. Brock Aiken made 31 saves to pick up the win. The Terriers improve to 15-6-0. The dogs will look to win back to back games on Sunday as they will play in Winnipeg against the Blues.
