The PCI Trojans opened their West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Tier 2 junior varsity basketball season with a win on home court.

They knocked off Churchill High School 63-47. "It wasn't a bad game but (the boys) were certainly off-and-on," says Trojans' head coach Darin Arnold. "There were just as many good periods as there were ugly periods. So that will be our job over the next few days, eliminate those ugly periods."

Their next game is an exhibition match at PCI Monday.

In Zone 7 basketball, the Macgregor Mustangs' senior boys didn't seem to have any trouble with Elton, winning 81-25 on home court. The senior girls fell 51-24 to Elton in the late game. Their next league matches aren't until January.
