There has been some exciting basketball played at PCI this season, and last night was no different.

The PCI Trojans won a nail-biter over Elmwood in West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Tier 2 action at PCI. They won 57-55, after being down 55-51 with 1:38 to go in the game. Grade 12 Bryce Rose scored the game-winning basket and says it was an exciting game.

"It was real intense. They came out with a lot of energy and they're a faster team, but we knew that we had some size on them so we were able to get points on the inside."

He talks about keeping it together for the final few minutes.

"Just stay focused. We tried to keep in the game, and not make any silly mistakes on plays."

The PCI Saints didn't seem to have any trouble with the Giants, winning 46-31 on home court. Both clubs' next league match is Monday against Shaftesbury.

In Zone 7 high school basketball, MacGregor's junior varsity clubs were in Neepawa. The JV girls won 34-28 over Neepawa, the boys struggled to find openings and fell 68-32 to Minnedosa.
