PCI's varisty clubs both picked up wins in West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Tier 2 basketball in Winnipeg.

The Saints first took out the Churchill Bulldogs 66-44. "It was a nice way to start off 2017," says head coach Bill Marsh. "We started slower than we would have preferred but once we got into a groove we took control of the game."

The Trojans also picked up a victory over Churchill. They won 55-48 over the Bulldogs to earn their first victory of the regular season. "We had a bit of a hard time putting the ball in the net at the beginning and some sloppy turnovers, but we remained composed and chipped away at the rust," says Trojans' head coach Janey Bradford. "We used our press to make some stops to cash in on some easy buckets. We maintained the lead until the end and didn't let them gather momentum. Good win."

The varsity clubs are back in action when they host Gordon Bell Wedesday.

PCI's JV clubs are on the court Tuesday in Portage.

The Tec Voc Hornets are in town for West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Tier 2 action. The Saints are up first at 5 p.m. and the Trojans follow at 6:30.
