Portage Collegiate's junior varsity teams were in West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Tier 2 action yesterday in Portage la Prairie.

The JV Saints took out Tec Voc 51-31. "It was a pretty good game," says Grade 10 player Rosie Wilson."We were passing really well, and working as a team really well. We learned a lot of new plays that we really applied (tonight). We ran the zone a lot better than in the past and it reflects that we've been practicing it a lot."

The JV Trojans didn't do as well in the second match of the night and fell 72-43 to Tec Voc. The JV Trojans are back in action Thursday when they host St. John's, the Saints are in tournament action this weekend.

The varsity clubs host Gordon Bell tonight in Portage. The Trojans are up first at 5 p.m. The Saints follow at 6:30. Both PCI teams won earlier in the week on the road to start 2017.

In Zone 7 high school basketball, MacGregor's on the road to face Neepawa. The girls are up first at 5, the boys follow at 6:30.
