The Female Midget Caps Split their exhibition games over the weekend. The Caps travelled west to play Regina and Weyburn, two Saskatchewan "AAA" Teams on January 21 and 22.

They managed to come away with a tough 4-1 loss versus a very good Regina team. The Caps actually outshot them 24-23 in a back and forth game, however, Regina was the more opportunistic team. Lindsay Rutherford had the lone goal for the Caps.

The Caps rebounded with a solid 4-0 victory against Weyburn the next day, where they continued to play an aggressive style, even though they were unable to ice a full team for either game. They were missing Assistant Captain Amy Klippenstein and rookie defense Lauren Mitchta. The Caps would outshoot Weyburn 42-18 getting goals from Rutherford, Maegen Inman, Halle Edwards and Taylor Woodward. Lacey Friesen stopped all 18 shots she faced to pick up the shutout win.

"We generated numerous quality scoring chances, and we were also very pleased with the defense side of our game. We had solid back pressure on the puck from forwards, better defensive zone coverage, plus a high compete level."

The Caps play 3 games over the weekend. Westman Friday, Interlake Saturday, and Pembina Valley Sunday.
